A Berea man died Tuesday night in a single-vehicle accident in Madison County, Kentucky State Police said.

William C. Maupin, 47, was traveling south on Ky. 421 when the 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck he was driving left the road.

Police said Maupin, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the truck. The pickup came to a stop off the southbound shoulder.

The accident was reported shortly before 7:30 p.m.

Maupin was pronounced dead by the Madison County Coroner's Office.
