Rating: PG for action, smoking and slang humor.

What it's about: A married fox decides to revisit the thieving ways of his youth, with potentially deadly consequences.

The Kid Attractor Factor: Stop-motion animation, just like in Coraline.

Good lessons/bad lessons: "There's something kind of fantastic about being different."

Violence: Against chickens, mostly. And a fox loses his tail.

Language: A new way for kids to swear: "What the cuss are you talking about?"

Sex: None.

Drugs and alcohol: Hard cider.

Parents' advisory: Kids will dig the screwy animation and action, adults the whimsy and the droll wit of Roald Dahl and Wes Anderson.

'The Twilight Saga: New Moon'

Rating: PG-13 for some violence and action.

What it's about: A high school girl can't have her one true love because he's a vampire.

The Kid Attractor Factor: Necking with the undead, a real teen turn-on.

Good lessons/bad lessons: "You can't trust a vampire." But a gentleman vampire never bites a neck he isn't offered, even if he is offered.

Violence: Vampire on wolf, vampire on vampire, the threat of vampire on human.

Language: Romance-novel clean.

Sex: Even more virginal than Twilight.

Drugs and alcohol: None.

Parents' advisory: The eroticism and sexual tension of the first film is mostly missing here — suitable for 10 and older.
