Here are some of the places offering Thanksgiving meals Thursday:
■ 10 a.m. Evergreen Baptist Church, 749 Florida Street. (859) 252-2707. Reservations required.
■ 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sal's Restaurant, 3373 Tates Creek Road. Make reservations at 335-6500 or call Allyson Kissick, (859) 977-2606. Walk-ins welcome but advance reservations preferred. For a free ride to Sal's, LexTran buses will leave from the Transit Center on Vine Street at 10:45 a.m., and Wal-Mart at North Park on New Circle Road and Wal-Mart on Nicholasville Road at 1:15 p.m. The buses will return about 1½ hours later.
■ Noon to 1:30 p.m. Salvation Army, 736 West Main Street. Reservations not required.
■ 5-6:30 p.m., Central Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 205 East Short Street. Volunteers are needed 4-7 p.m. to help serve. Blankets, coats, warm clothing will be distributed.
Festivities
The Lexington Winter Festival and Holiday Market: 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Triangle Park. Arts and crafts, food and entertainment.
Christmas parade: 5:30 p.m. Friday. From Main Street and Midland Avenue past Broadway to Vine Street. Followed by tree lighting at Vine and Broadway.

Courts: District, circuit and appeals courts closed Thursday.
Government: Local and state offices closed Thursday.
Lexington-Fayette Health Department: Closed Thursday and Friday.
Library: Closed Thursday.
LexTran: Closed Thursday.
Post office: No delivery Thursday.
Garbage:
■ Urban County Government: No pickup Thursday. Make-up day was Wednesday.
■ Rumpke Sanitation will have no delays.
■ M&M Sanitation. No pickup Thursday; make-up day is Friday.
Blood donation: The Central Kentucky Blood Center will be closed Thursday and Friday.
