Mount Sterling man killed in wreck

- aclark@herald-leader.com

Alcohol might be a contributing factor in a car accident that killed a Mount Sterling man, according to Kentucky State Police.

Stacy M. Bratton, 40, was traveling west on U.S. 460 in Montgomery County just before 10:30 p.m. Monday when he entered the eastbound entrance ramp to Interstate 64, state police said in a news release.

Bratton lost control of his 2002 Chevy TrailBlazer on the entrance ramp and hit a utility pole. Bratton, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle, police said.

Bratton was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is under investigation.

Reach Ashlee Clark at (859) 231-1443 or 1-800-950-6397, Ext. 1443.
