A parents' guide to select new movies:
'Extraordinary Measures'
Rating: PG for thematic material, language and a mild suggestive moment.
What it's about: A father quits his job and devotes his work life to financing a company that will produce drugs to save his dying children.
The Kid Attractor Factor: Plucky kids hanging on while dad makes the deals that might save them.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Giving up and accepting conventional wisdom won't produce miracles.
Violence: None.
Language: Some profanity.
Sex: Not really, although there is that "mild suggestive moment."
Drugs and alcohol: One scene takes place in a bar.
Parents' advisory: Family friendly, although getting kids to sit through a disease weeper will be tough.
