Bert Browne to coach Madison Central football

Bert Browne, who quarterbacked Madison Central's football team 25 years ago, is returning to his hometown as the Indians' new coach.

"I've always dreamed of being the head coach at Madison Central someday, so I'm very excited to have that chance," said Browne, who has been at Perry County Central the last four years.

Redman offered new job

Former Male coach Bob Redman was named the head football coach at Jeffersonville High School at a school board meeting Tuesday night, the New Albany News and Tribune in Indiana reported.

Redman, father of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Chris Redman, had a record of 317-115-1 at Male before resigning last week.

Shaw commits to EKU

Lafayette football star Eric Shaw, who led the Generals on both sides of the ball the past two years, has committed to Eastern Kentucky.

Lafayette Coach Rob Sayre said EKU recruited Shaw as a tailback. He rushed for more than 1,000 yards for the Generals last fall. He totaled more than 3,300 all-purpose yards over the past two seasons.
