Shareholders of Affiliated Computer Services, which employs nearly 4,000 in Kentucky, approved on Friday its acquisition by Xerox.

Xerox, whose shareholders also approved the deal, announced last year it would buy ACS in a deal worth $6.4 billion in cash and stock.

Xerox said the deal will create a $22 billion business that combines its copiers, printers and document-management services with ACS and its role as a business outsourcer that takes on tasks like helping manage payroll or running health care plans.
