Five arrested in McCreary County meth-lab bust

Five people were arrested after state police discovered an active meth lab in McCreary County where a 5-year-old child was present, according to a news release.

James Coffey, Jonathan Coffey, Jessica Cox, Corey Stigall and Joey Hicks, ages 19 to 30, were charged with first-degree methamphetamine manufacturing and fourth-degree child endangerment after police found the lab on Lum Strunk Road in the Strunk community around 10 p.m. Monday, the release said.

The child was placed in protective custody after being evaluated for injuries at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, police said.
