The unusually high temperatures in Central Kentucky on Sunday don't plan to stick around for the rest of the week.

The high temperature on Sunday in Lexington was 61 degrees — 14 degrees above normal, said Joe Ammerman, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Louisville.

No records were broken in Central Kentucky. In Lexington, the record temperature for the day is 71, set in 1874.

On Monday, a cold front will arrive in Lexington with the high reaching about 48 degrees, Ammerman said.

"After that it's kind of all downhill," he said.

Tuesday's high is expected to be about 36 degrees.

He said there could be a few snow flurries on Tuesday, but no accumulation is expected.
