FLORENCE — The top five finishers in last month's WEBN Stakes return to Turfway Park on Saturday for the $100,000 John Battaglia Memorial Stakes, the last local prep for the Lane's End Stakes on March 27.
Eight 3-year-olds are entered for the Battaglia Memorial (5:45 p.m., TVG), run at 11⁄16 miles over Polytrack.
Kera's Kitten, owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey and trained by Mike Maker, won 1-mile WEBN Stakes, leading at every call and prevailing by 21/2 lengths.
Kera's Kitten, made the 9-5 favorite in the Battaglia, is 3-for-5 in his career. Two of the wins were in stakes races and all three came in front-running fashion.
Slewzoom and Lucky Chuck, who ran second and third in the WEBN, are also entered in the Battaglia.
The second choice in the morning line at 3-1 is graded-stakes placed Codoy, who will make his first start since finishing last in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf in November.
