Lexington-based Lexmark International announced a new product this week aimed at helping hospitals during network outages.

The company's Lexmark Downtime Reports product updates a hospital's forms and reports on the printer's hard drive periodically. That way, if the hospital's information technology system fails, workers can use the printer to print the forms.

The product also can be configured, according to a Lexmark news release, to store bar-coded forms with personalized patient data. For more information, go to www.lexmark.com.
