Former president George W. Bush will be the honored guest at a Little League International banquet in Lexington on March 15.
President Bush will join his father, George H.W. Bush, who received the same honor in 1995, as a recipient of the "Distinguished Little League Ambassador Award."
The banquet will be on the last day of the five-day Little League Baseball's 25th International Congress at the Lexington Center.
The convention will be the inaugural event presented by the new Bluegrass Sports Commission, a product of a merger of the Lexington Area Sports Authority and the Bluegrass State Games.
The commission, chaired by Alan Stein, will present the Bluegrass State Games and pursue other amateur sports events.
