Defending state champion Lexington Catholic is No. 1 in the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association pre-season ratings.

Coach Kevin Clary's Knights have to restock a lineup that graduated seven starters off last year's team that beat Owensboro in the state championship game.

Lexington Catholic's top returnees include infielder/pitcher Taylor Martin, pitcher/outfielder Patrick Maronde and infielder/designated hitter Tyler Jackson.

Trinity, led by senior pitcher and University of Kentucky signee Corey Littrell, is rated second in the pre-season.

Littrell and Danville outfielder/pitcher Duran Elmore, who were named Louisville Slugger pre-season All-Americans, are among the top 50 players in the state as selected by the KHSBCA.
