A man found dead Saturday along a riverbank in Rockcastle County probably fell off a cliff, Coroner Billy Dowell said.

Jeffrey Shivel, 26, had been gone since about Feb. 7, but his family only recently became concerned because he often hiked for long periods. A TV news photographer found his body below a campsite on Chestnut Grove Road on Saturday. A search was going on at the time.

Dowell said foul play has not been ruled out, but that Shivel had sustained blunt force trauma consistent with a fall from a height.
