A public hearing is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Government Center for the Turfland Town Center development plan.

Rubloff Development Group proposes to build a mixed-used project on the 25-acre site of the former Turfland Mall on Harrodsburg Road to include offices, retail, restaurants, residential and a public gallery for traveling exhibits. The former Dillard's department store building will be renovated for use as a two-story office building. The remainder of the mall will be razed and two new structures will occupy that space. On the rear of the property will be two office buildings.

Turfland Town Center is estimated to cost $119 million. Rubloff is requesting $39 million in tax-increment financing funds for public improvements including a parking structure.
