A man wanted in the shooting of two Perry County residents turned himself in to state police Friday morning.

Garfield Herald Jr., 26, of Busy surrendered at the Hazard state-police post about 10:30 a.m., said Trooper Jody Sims.

Police had obtained a warrant Thursday charging Herald with first-degree assault for allegedly shooting Albert M. "Glen" Jent, 49, and Shawn Mobelini, 35, both of Vicco.

Both were shot in the head Thursday morning at Jent's home, police said.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting.

Jent and Mobelini were in critical condition late Thursday at a hospital in Kingsport, Tenn. On Friday, Sims said investigators had not heard whether their conditions had changed.
