A 2-year-old girl who was found in a swimming pool in Burgin earlier this week died Saturday at the University of Kentucky Hospital, according to the Fayette County coroner's office.

Anarae Lefau died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday.

On Thursday, Anarae was discovered unresponsive at the bottom of an above-ground pool on Curdsville Road in Burgin, according to The Advocate-Messenger of Danville.

The girl's grandmother performed infant CPR, and paramedics were able to get the girl breathing again before she was taken to UK.

The coroner's office said the drowning death is being investigated as an accident.
