The University of Kentucky's Institute for Workplace Innovation is conducting a study of Kentucky's aging workforce. Among the topics being explored are needs that employers will have as the population ages and creating healthy and productive workplaces for older workers.

In promoting the study, the institute noted that nearly 23 percent of Kentucky's population will be older than 50 by 2020 and two-thirds of older adults plan to work well into the traditional retirement age range.

Businesses interested in participating in the study are asked to contact the institute by calling (859) 257-6767 or e-mailing lauren.newsome@uky.edu. The study will include 90-minute focus groups and a brief follow-up online survey.
