Frankfort police are searching for a man who could provide information about a fatal shooting that occurred early Wednesday.

Police would like to question Marvin Boomer, 28, in hopes that he can "shed some light" in the shooting death of Jonathan Stewart, Frankfort police Maj. Fred Deaton said.

Police said they are searching for a second male for questioning but were unable to identify him.

Officers, responding at 12:07 a.m. to reports of gunfire at Hickory Hills Manor Apartments, discovered Stewart, 25, of Frankfort lying near the playground area of the complex at 120 Marlowe Court with a gunshot wound to the torso, Deaton said.

Stewart died shortly after he arrived at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Deaton said Boomer is known to drive a gray or primer gray '80s model Oldsmobile Cutlass or Chevrolet Monte Carlo with 22- or 26-inch rims.

Anyone with information is asked to call Frankfort police at (502) 875-8523 or Frankfort Crime Stoppers at (502) 875-8648.
