Suspect in fatal Frankfort shooting turns himself in

Frankfort Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Marvin Boomer of Frankfort. Boomer is a male/black with brown eyes and black hair. He is 5' 9'' tall and weighs approximately 205 pounds. A man suspected in a fatal shooting at a Frankfort apartment complex on Wednesday turned himself in Sunday.

Police had been searching for Marvin Boomer, 28, of Frankfort in the death of Jonathan Stewart just after midnight Tuesday. Stewart, 25, was found near a playground at Hickory Hills Manor Apartments at 120 Marlowe Court with a gunshot wound to the torso. He died shortly after being taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Investigators initially wanted to question Boomer about the shooting, but they later obtained an arrest warrant, charging him with murder.

Boomer was taken to Franklin County Regional Jail, where he was being held on $500,000 full-cash bond.
