The State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort has positively identified the remains of a woman reported missing in 2003 as 29-year-old Sabrina Marie Vaughn.

Powell County Deputy Coroner Megan Davis said she received a report from Frankfort Wednesday. Vaughn, whose ex-boyfriend, Bass Webb, has been charged in her death, was last seen in December 2003. There were reports that she was seen at a home in Bath County and at another resident in Menifee County.

Vaughn was identified through DNA matches on June 25, Davis said.

Webb was indicted in April on charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection with Vaughn's death. Police think Webb strangled Vaughn in an apartment to which he had access.

Police said another man, Jonathan French, 32, helped dispose of the body. French has been charged with tampering with physical evidence.
