uk commitment davis's new No. 1

August 25, 2010

Recruiting services and updated their basketball rankings for the class of 2011 on Wednesday, with both moving Kentucky commitment Michael Gilchrist out of the top spot.

But Wildcats fans won't have much to complain about. While Gilchrist slipped slightly (No. 3 Rivals, No. 5 Scout), another UK commitment, 6-foot-10 Anthony Davis of Chicago, soared to the top of the ratings and was moved up to No. 6 by Rivals. UK's third commitment for 2011, 6-2 point guard Marquis Teague of Indianapolis, is now rated No. 2 by Rivals and No. 6 by Scout.

In downgrading Gilchrist, a 6-6 forward from Elizabeth, N.J., both services expressed concerns about his shooting.

While Davis took over the top spot in Scout's ratings, Rivals went with 6-3 guard Austin Rivers of Winter Park, Fla.

■ A limited number of tickets remain for Kentucky's Nov. 22 and Nov. 23 games in the Maui Invitational. Those tickets go on sale Wednesday at 3 p.m. EDT, only on the tournament's Web site,
