A 17-year-old boy was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment early Wednesday after briefly pointing a shotgun at two officers, Richmond police said.

No one was hurt and no shots were fired.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, the officers were sent to Williams Mobile Home Park on Big Hill Avenue, where a teen had been reported to be brandishing a gun and being disorderly.

The officers encountered the teen, who briefly pointed the shotgun at them and then went into the mobile home.

An emergency response unit was activated, and a negotiator spoke with the teen for about 30 minutes. The teen later surrendered, and police recovered the shotgun.

The boy was being held at the Fayette County Juvenile Detention Center pending a hearing.
