Winchell's on Southland Drive is filled with sports memorabilia, and TVs are visible from anywhere in the restaurant. The food possibilities are numerous and good, too.

If Lexington is anything, it's a sports town. We love our University of Kentucky Wildcats. Here are a few places, all of which serve food, where you're guaranteed to find a game, or games, on the TVs and some fellow sports fans to talk stats with.

Buffalo Wild Wings

3094 Old Todds Rd. (859) 263-9464. Buffalowildwings.com. Hours: 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Mon-Sat.; 11 a.m.-midnight Sun. Another location: 1080 S. Broadway, Suite 104.

If you want good food and a family-friendly atmosphere with your ball game, this sports-bar chain is the place for you. Children are welcome, but the beer is frosty cold and reasonably priced for when you're out with friends. If you're not in the mood for their signature hot wings, there are plenty of other offerings on their menu to tempt you.

Taste: With 14 different sauce options, there are delicious hot wings here for every palate.

Pazzo's Pizza Club

385 S. Limestone. (859) 255-5125. Pazzospizzapub.com. Kitchen hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Mon.-Wed., 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Thu.-Sat., noon-10 p.m. Sun.; bar open later each day.

Families mingle with students in this sprawling establishment that's across the street from the UK campus. Sports is always on the large monitors, but Pazzo's is really about great pizza (marinara sauce and dough made fresh daily) and great beer (an extensive offering that changes daily). Order a pitcher of the featured beer on Pint Night, every Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m., and get two glasses from that brewery to take home. There's a great bourbon list, too.

See: The informative Web site to plan your beer or bourbon selections in advance, including the Pint Night selection.

Winchell's Restaurant and Bar

348 Southland Dr. (859) 278-9424. Winchellsrestaurant.com. Hours: 8 a.m.-1 a.m. Mon.-Sat.; 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Sun.

Winchell's has the feel of a sports bar crammed with memorabilia, but mixed with a down-home neighborhood diner. So the food possibilities are more numerous — and, frankly, better-quality — than your typical sports bar. If you're a beer drinker (and the options on that front are certainly respectable, if not astounding), then the spicy beef nachos or the pork quesadilla make for an especially tasty combo.

See: A TV in every direction, from just about anywhere in Winchell's. If there's a game on in just about any sport, chances are you can find it here.
