Nineteen people were arrested as part of a drug roundup by the Somerset Police Department and Operation UNITE on Tuesday.

Of those, 13 were arrested on outstanding warrants from Pulaski District Court, three were arrested on outstanding criminal indictments and three were arrested on new charges, according to a news release.

The 17 officers participating in the roundup had arrest warrants to serve on 38 people and hoped to continue making arrests Tuesday evening.

Among those arrested were Gary Cook, 36, who had been staying at the Economy Inn. He was taken into custody when officers discovered that he was a fugitive wanted in Florida for possession of oxycodone.

Mary Miller, 41, was also arrested at the Economy Inn and charged with third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

And Darlene Meadows, 46, was charged with four drug-related offenses after officers said they found drugs in a home on West Ky. 80 near Nancy.
