Lexington businesses and residents might find pink flamingos in their yards as part of a fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign.

The campaign crew, including a team from Republic Bank, wants to raise $10,000 to finance breast cancer research, early detection and patient support. For a minimum $20 donation, businesses and residents can "flock a friend" within Fayette County, according to information on the group's Web site, Pinkflamingosforlife.org.

Go to the Web site for more information about how to donate and how to flock.

Lexington's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K walk will be Oct. 24 at University of Kentucky's campus. Registration will begin at 1 p.m.
