LEBANON — Anthony Epps, Marion County High School's new boys' basketball coach and former University of Kentucky basketball star, was arrested early Saturday on a charge of driving under the influence.
Epps, 35, of Lebanon, was stopped by Lebanon police near the Hamilton Heights neighborhood around 2:05 a.m. and failed "normal field sobriety tests," said Lebanon Police Sgt. Greg Young.
Young said Epps refused a breath test and was taken to the Marion County Detention Center.
The Lebanon native played as a guard on the UK basketball team under Rick Pitino in the 1990s, including the 1996 national championship team.
Epps was hired as Marion County boys' basketball coach in April. As a player there, he led the school to the 1993 state championship.
