A University of Kentucky football player was sentenced Friday to four days' house arrest and given a 45-day license suspension after pleading guilty to driving under the influence.
A charge of driving without insurance was dismissed after Matt Roark, a junior wide receiver, produced proof of insurance at court, according to court documents.
Roark, 20, was arrested on Oct. 24 after crashing into a parked car on Wood Valley Court. He failed field sobriety tests had a .192 blood alcohol level, according to court documents. The legal limit for drivers is .08.
Roark was suspended for one game — Saturday's game against Mississippi State — for a violation of team rules, but UK Coach Joker Phillips did not say what the violation was.
Roark, a 6-foot-5, 209-pound receiver, has caught 11 passes for 163 yards this season and has been a key cog on the Wildcats' special teams unit. He has six career blocked kicks.
Roark was born in Lexington but attended high school in Acworth, Ga. His father, Ray Gover, was a UK letterman from 1985 to 1988 as a defensive back and wide receiver.
