As many as 48 groups participated in the Veterans Parade in downtown Lexington Sunday, according to Genia Dorsey, a parade coordinator.
Members of War Mothers of the Bluegrass, Inc., an organization made up of Central Kentucky-area mothers of soldiers who have served or are serving in the military, were the parade's grand marshals.
Veterans Day itself will be celebrated on Thursday.
