Columbia Gas offers incentives for paperless billing

Posted: 2:19pm on Feb 2, 2011

Columbia Gas of Kentucky is offering an environmental incentive for customers who sign up for its paperless billing service.

Through April 1, Columbia Gas will donate $10 to The Nature Conservancy for each customer who switches to the paperless service. The donation will go toward inoculating more than 15,000 hemlocks in Kentucky's Bad Branch Nature Preserve against a deadly insect called the hemlock woolly adelgid.

The utility said the paperless billing program sends e-mail messages to customers when bills are ready, and the bills can be paid online at no charge.
