Central Baptist Hospital launched a mobile-phone application this week that includes floor maps, physician directories and a series of ways to track your health. The free app is available now on the iPhone and will be soon for Android phones and the iPad, hospital spokeswoman Ruth Ann Childers said.
Childers said the hospital will add 15 more health-tracking features to the app, including pill reminders and a pregnancy journal, over the next six months.
The app also includes a medical library containing articles about diseases, surgeries and health tips, and first-aid information.
The app is one of a series of online and social-media initiatives that the hospital has launched. It also now has an online store, at Centralbaptist.thehospitalstore.com, that sells a variety of items, including medical accessories and flowers. A blog also has been launched at Wherehopeisbuilt.blogspot.com that will provide details about the hospital's expansion at its main campus.
In addition to the physician directory on the app, the hospital has launched PhysicianLink, a telephone referral service that is available at all times. The number is (855) 224-5465.
