The Census Bureau used raw 2000 data to compare to 2010. The 2000 numbers were adjusted later, and the Herald-Leader opted to use these adjusted--official--2000 numbers in comparing to 2010. The result is that, in a few counties, the Census Bureau map shows a different rate of growth or decline than is indicated by the Herald-Leader numbers in this chart or in the map and chart published in the newspaper.
