Trader Joe's, a popular gourmet grocery, appears to be eyeing a location in Louisville. A notice published recently in the classified section of The Courier-Journal stated that the company intends to apply for a retail liquor sales license no later than June 1.
The notice said the license would be for a Trader Joe's store at 4600 Shelbyville Road, the site of the Shelbyville Road Plaza.
A message left with a Trader Joe's representative was not returned.
The nearest location of the chain is in Cincinnati, at 7788 Montgomery Road.
