■ The Business Innovation & Growth Center at Kentucky Highlands in London has received a Build Kentucky Award from the Associated General Contractors of Kentucky. The center is projected to serve as a catalyst for 16 businesses, 127 jobs and $6 million in private investment during its first five years. The project was one of three recipients in the LEED category and received the award for the small project division of less than $2 million. The two other Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design winners were the Bristow Elementary School in Warren County and the University of Louisville Center for Preventive Medicine. The Bristol Group of Lexington served as general contractors on the London project.
■ Travis Lynch of Berea has been named one of 100 semifinalists in the running to become the 2011 inductee into the Energizer Keep It Going Hall of Fame. A former public school teacher, Lynch started a home for people in need, such as troubled youth or families in crisis. Energizer Bunny Facebook fans will have the opportunity to select Lynch as a top 10 finalist by voting for him at facebook.com/energizerbunny by March 25.
■ Bonnie Flint, a sales associate with Century 21 Simpson and Associates in Frankfort, received the 2010 Century 21 President's Producer Award, which is given to Century 21 System sales associates who earn the Century 21 Centurion award and the Century 21 Quality Service Pinnacle Producer award in the same calendar year.
■ The University of Louisville's College of Business has been ranked in the top 10 percent of the nation's business schools for 2011 by BusinessWeek magazine. U of L ranked 111th; rhere are some 1,500 undergraduate business schools in the nation. It is also the top-ranked Kentucky business school and 58th among business schools at U.S. public universities.
