Danville woman dies in wreck

A Danville woman died at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital after a crash in Danville on Sunday.

Ann L. McChord, 77, was driving through the intersection of U.S. 150 and the Thoroughbred Drive Connector at 11:05 a.m. when a pickup truck ran a red light and hit her vehicle, according to a news release from the Fayette County coroner's office.

McChord, who had been wearing a seat belt, was taken to the University of Kentucky, where she was pronounced dead at 10:55 p.m. The cause of death was listed as a closed head injury and blunt force trauma to the head as a result of the crash.

Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
