Pike had dozens of scholarship offers

Dixie Heights High School quarterback Zeke Pike announced Wednesday that he was committing to play college football for reigning national champion Auburn.

Pike had scholarship offers from dozens of Division I schools, but he narrowed his choices to Auburn, Arkansas, Clemson, North Carolina, Purdue and Tennessee before making his decision.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pounder passed for 2,135 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior last fall, and rushed for 947 yards and 17 TDs.

He is the son of Mark Pike, who played in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills and in four Super Bowls.
