Lexington's Downtown Trash Bash postponed

April 22, 2011

The Downtown Trash Bash, originally scheduled for Earth Day, April 22, was postponed because of rain. It has been rescheduled for noon Monday, April 25, in Cheapside Park.

The park is between West Main Street and West Short Street, just west of Upper Street.

The Trash Bash, an annual spring cleaning event, arms volunteers with bags and gloves to remove debris from downtown streets and sidewalks. It is part of the Great American Clean-up. The first 200 registered volunteers get a free T-shirt and snack.

The Trash Bash is sponsored by the Downtown Lexington Corporation.
