A Sunday fire at a Kentucky State University dorm room is under investigation as a possible arson, a university spokeswoman said Monday.
A female student was treated for smoke inhalation at Frankfort Regional Medical Center and released, said KSU spokeswoman Felicia Lewis. The university is not releasing the student's name, Lewis said.
The fire was reported at 5:15 a.m. Sunday when a pull station, which rings the alarm, was activated at Chandler Hall, Lewis said. KSU police and the Frankfort Fire Department responded.
The fire caused damage to a carpet, and there was smoke damage to the room, Lewis said.
No one has been charged, but the fire is under investigation by Kentucky State Police, state Fire Marshal's Office and KSU Police.
