Teens from Morehead and Lexington have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor given by the Boy Scouts of America:

Logan Grant Blevins, 16, is a member of Troop No. 58, sponsored by Trinity Christian Fellowship, and is a member of the Blue Grass Council of the Boy Scouts. He is a sophomore at Rowan County High School and is the son of Stephen M. and Kathy D. Blevins of Morehead. Logan's Eagle Scout project involved campus beautification. He planted American chestnut trees on the campuses of Rowan County Senior High School and Rowan County Middle School. This species of the tree is now nearly extinct. A total of 16 scouts and parents participated in this project.

Dostell Christopher Ross Lamb, 15, is a member of Troop No. 93, sponsored by Cathedral of Christ the King. He is a freshman at Henry Clay High School and is the son of Gary and Elizabeth Lamb of Lexington. For his Eagle Scout project, Dostell disassembled a storage building at one site, salvaged the parts and transported them to the Catholic Action Center, where he reassembled the building. The storage building will house tools. Dostell's project took 273 hours to complete and involved 24 volunteers.
