The University of Kentucky athletics department will hold a news conference for freshman point guard Brandon Knight Friday at 10:15 a.m., the school announced Thursday night.

A topic wasn't specified, but Knight has put his name in the NBA Draft. The deadline for underclassmen to withdraw from draft consideration and retain their college eligibility is Sunday.

UK Coach John Calipari told ESPN's Andy Katz on Wednesday, "Brandon got the confirmation that he wanted" during a recent workout for NBA representatives.

Also scheduled to speak is new gymnastics coach Tim Garrison.
