A Chicago architecture student has been identified as the bicyclist who died after a Monday night collision with a car in Woodford County, Versailles police said Wednesday.

Yishi Wei, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene at U.S. 421 and Coach Station Road near Midway. Versailles Police Lt. Daniel Clark said police are trying to learn why Wei was in Central Kentucky.

Wei was riding a bike in the westbound lane when he was struck by a westbound car after 9 p.m. Monday. The driver of the car was not injured, and police said no charges will be brought against that person.
