A motorcyclist died and his passenger was injured Sunday when the motorcycle was struck by a Ford Ranger in Bath County, according to Kentucky State Police.

The accident occurred at 8:42 a.m. on Ky. 11 in Sharpsburg when the 1993 Ford Ranger, driven by Michael Ginn Sr., 58, of Sharpsburg, was making a left turn onto Old Ky. 11. Ginn's vehicle crossed into the southbound lane of Ky. 11, and into the path of the 1995 Harley Davidson, driven by Harmon Sizemore, 58, state police said.

The motorcycle hit the front grill of the pickup truck and then a guardrail. Sizemore and his passenger, a 17-year-old girl, were thrown from the motorcycle.

They were flown to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, where Sizemore was pronounced dead. The passenger was in stable condition. Ginn was not injured, state police said.
