Anita Back of Seitz in Magoffin County was killed Thursday night when a car driven by Trenton Tackett crossed the center line of U.S. 460 in Magoffin, Kentucky State Police said.

Trooper Shaun Little, of Post 9 in Pikeville, said Tackett's Subaru Outback collided with Back's eastbound Chevy pickup truck about 10 p.m.

Back, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene, and Tackett, 22, of Staffordsville, was taken to Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville. Little said he thought Tackett was still in the hospital Friday morning. The hospital would not confirm his presence or release his condition.

The investigation of the crash continued Friday morning.
