Morehead State, Eastern announce new degree partnership

June 6, 2011

Morehead State University and Eastern Kentucky University on Monday said they will allow holders of associate degrees in Kentucky's mountain counties to complete a bachelor's degree without leaving the area.

The venture, called Associate to Baccalaureate Degree Pathway, will offer classes beginning in the fall of 2011.

Classes will be at Morehead State in Jackson, EKU at Manchester and Hazard Community and Technical College in traditional format, online or by interactive television.

After completing an associate's degree, graduates will be eligible for admission to an online Bachelor of University Studies program at Morehead. Eastern will offer a Bachelor of Arts professional track in general studies.

"It facilitates the completion of a baccalaureate degree that otherwise would be unattainable for many community college graduates," said Eastern President Doug Whitlock.
