UK's president-elect visiting state for meetings, events

June 8, 2011

Lexington: University of Kentucky president-elect Eli Capilouto is in Kentucky this week. Although the former provost of the University of Alabama-Birmingham is mainly meeting in private with UK staff members and others, he will attend a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Louisville with alumni and other interested Louisville-area residents.

He is also planning to visit UK’s Pike County extension office and will attend a reception at UK trustee Pam May’s law office in Pike County.

Capilouto will attend UK’s health care retreat at Keeneland on Monday. He also will visit Greenville, S.C., with members of Commerce Lexington on June 15-17. UK trustees, who approved Capilouto as UK’s next president in May, will take a final vote on his contract on June 14.
