Steven Dotson, D.C., was recently named Rising Star by Sherman College of Chiropractic. Dotson, a 2009 Sherman College graduate, serves as Clinic Director of Chiro One Wellness Center of Winchester.

Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC: 19 of its attorneys have been named to the 2011 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business.

Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa has been awarded the Event Management Team of the Year for 2010 from Marriott International in the Americas Core Hotels and Resort Category. The winning event management team includes: Susan Kelly-Fogle, Leigh Dalton, Shari Florence, and Gwen Hart.

The awards have continued to roll in as the hotel's executive chef, Sharon Caudill, recently won the People's Choice Award 2011 for best entrée at the 31st annual Taste of the Bluegrass.

Denise Steffanus, contributing editor of the Thoroughbred Times, earned the prestigious Michael E. DeBakey Journalism Award for her article "Quadriplegic donkey walks again." The award honors professional journalists whose reporting has enhanced public understanding of how the humane and responsible use of animal models leads to medical and scientific discoveries.

Steffanus is in distinguished company as a DeBakey Award winner. Some of the more recent winners include Scott Pelley and Denise Schrier Cretta of CBS News' 60 Minutes, Jonathan Hamilton of National Public Radio, NBC News correspondent Robert Bazell, and Guatam Naik of the Wall Street Journal.

Retiring Fayette Schools Superintendent Stu Silberman was named Communicator of the Year by the Board of Directors for the Thoroughbred Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
