Richmond woman killed when car hits telephone pole

Published: July 5, 2011

The Madison County coroner identified a woman who was killed in a single-car crash Sunday night.

Denise LaDuke, 30, of Richmond was pronounced dead from blunt-force trauma after her sport-utility vehicle crashed into a telephone pole on Big Hill Avenue.

LaDuke was not wearing a seat belt, Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said.

Speed is thought to be a factor in the crash. There was no evidence of alcohol, but Cornelison said toxicology results are pending.
