FRANKFORT — Attorney General Jack Conway and his wife, Elizabeth, observed the Fourth of July by becoming parents for the second time.

Their new daughter, Alexandra "Alex" Frances Conway, was born at 10:45 a.m. Monday.

She weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces, was 20 inches long, and has a full head of hair and blue eyes.

The baby joins the Conway's first child, Eva, who turns 2 this month.

Conway, who turned 42 Tuesday, said he got his birthday present a day early.

"Elizabeth and Alex are both doing well," Conway said. "I am relieved, and big sister Eva is in shock."

The new baby's middle name is a family name. Francis is her grandfather Tom Conway's first name.
