Sentencing postponed in former Madison school secretary's rape case

Published: July 8, 2011

RICHMOND — Sentencing for a former Madison Central High School secretary was postponed Thursday until next month.

A sex-offender risk assessment was not ready for Lynda Chase, who pleaded guilty in May to rape and sodomy charges involving a 15-year-old student. Without that assessment, Chase cannot be sentenced, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Jennifer Smith said.

Madison Circuit Judge William Clouse rescheduled sentencing for 9 a.m. Aug. 25.
