The Lexington Legends can't wait for September.
The West Virginia Power scored eight runs in the fourth inning and six more in the seventh and pounded the Legends 17-9 Monday night at Charleston, W.Va., dropping Lexington to 7-20 for the month.
Nine of the first 10 Power batters had hits in the fourth. The other was retired on a sacrifice fly.
Andy Vasquez hit two home runs for West Virginia, including a three-run shot in the fourth that gave the hosts an 11-2 lead.
The Legends got to within 11-9 before the Power put away the game in the seventh.
